Weekly TV Reviews: Charmed s3 ep3
This week's episode of "Charmed" finds the sisters splitting up for a dangerous scavenger hunt in a drastic attempt to save magic. They may have won in the last episode by destroying Julian's aunt, but it wasn't until after magic was corrupted. Now they've decided that their best chance is to find the pieces needed to regain the power of the source and recharge the tree so as to return magic to all. While they searched, witches and demons alike were facing a deadly end with even Abby spitting up ash.
Thoughts:
1.) Maggie & Jordan
Each of the sisters has hidden a piece they need but had Harry erase their memories so now they're embarking on scavenger hunts to find where they would have hidden their piece. This takes Maggie and Jordan down memory lane as Maggie's clue takes them back to her old sorority. This is a humorous walk in the past that brings you back to season one when Maggie's life was a lot simpler and her biggest problem was Parker. Scenes between Maggie and Jordan are always nice giving that the two make a great duo and their friendship is a sweet center for the character.
2.) Mel & Abby
Mel has a complicated relationship with Abby and it's unsure if the two are to head down a romantic avenue. While Maggie heads down a trip to the past, Mel and Abby take a trip into the future where Mel discovers her grave and a date that reads today. Mel's trip to the future is an eye-opener for her in two ways as she accepts sacrificing herself to save magic and discovers that magic survives to make it in the future. On the bright side, Mel survives by the episode's end and magic does get saved as predicted.
3.) Macy & Harry
While her sisters go through the emotional future and past, Macy and Harry take more of a romantic venture as they literally follow her sandals to where she hid her piece. The two have had several ups and downs that led to them finally being together, and while Harry was initially hesitant to pursue their relationship, he's decided to take a chance between them. It's clear that the two won't have an easy road but it'd be nice to see some quieter sweeter moments between them.
With magic saved and their current enemy defeated, we're curious to see where the next episode will take them and what plot we can expect.
